Colombia Heirloom Chiroso

The department of Cauca in Colombia borders one of the most famous growing regions in the country –Huila. They share the rich soil and high elevations that come from their proximity to the Nevado del Huila, Colombia’s tallest volcano, making it a prime location. We get the pleasure of enjoying this blend of coffees from farms bordering the Rio Páez. This lot was brought together by three small farmers, who grow a heirloom varietal called Chiroso. Having some genetic relation to the tea-like coffees of Ethiopia, our coffee provides a wonderful balance of Rooibos tea, plum blossom, and honey.
